Place: California Price: $7.99 Aroma: Musty Taste: Sour Flavors Detected: Grape Juice, Catcher’s Mitt Leather This was not really good at all. The aroma was basically rubbing alcohol mixed with a musty, stemmy basement. I was done after a few sips. Andy hated it but drank it anyways. He’s like Mikey from the Life cereal commercials. This wine was a [...]
Place: Argentina Price: $8 Aroma: Cinnamon, Flowers, Leather Taste: Full Tannis, Underwhelming Flavors Detected: Sour Cherry, Violet, Rose Petals This is a mixed Red from Argentina. It’s a blend of 80% Bonarda and 20% Malbec. The aroma was interesting with scents of cinnamon, flowers, and leather with a bit of strawberry pez. There was a little heat to [...]
Place: Argentina Price: $12 Aroma: Cherry, Leather Color: Dark Red with Purple Tints Taste: Delicate Flavors Detected: Sour Cherry, Blueberry This was a very enjoyable wine and our first red in a few weeks. Place: Spain Price: $22 Aroma: Almond, Raisin, Musty Cellar Color: Dark Red Taste: Mild Tannins Flavors Detected: Cranberry, Plums, Walnuts This Spanish blend contains Grenache, Carignan, & Cabernet Sauvignon varietals. It was a decent selection, but not very memorable. The flavors are light and the tannins are mild just like the woody scent and taste.

29 Mar 2009Place: Chile Price: $25 Aroma: Cherry, Strawberry, Musty Color: Purple Plum Taste: Acidic, Medium Bodied Flavors Detected: Cherry, Dark Chocolate, Nutty This was our favorite of the three Pinot Noirs. It had the best overall mouth feel, even with the cotton mouth effect. The color was richer and more purplely (purplely is fun to say! I don’t care if it’s a [...]
